MISSION STATEMENT OF TAU-LABORATORY HIGH SCHOOL

The Tarlac Agricultural University-Laboratory High School is to enhance optimum development of the students with emphasis on the internalization of values to make them self-fulfilled, effective, and efficient in their roles in the social groups to which they belong. It aims to equip the learners with scientific, intellectual, and work skills necessary for higher level of learning or in the competitive world of work as well as to contribute actively in nation-building and universal brotherhood.

 

 

PROGRAM OUTCOMES

The TAU-Laboratory School seeks to achieve the following objectives:

  • To develop the specific potentials of each individual-the moral, spiritual, cultural, socio-civic, and physical aspects of student’s personality and society’s benefits.

  • To develop in the individual the sense of belonging to a national community.

  • To develop intellectual and work skills in the individual focused on the values that he must develop for the meaningful and purposeful utilization of student skills.

 

 

Curriculum

Tarlac Agricultural University-Laboratory School uses K-12 Curriculum (re: K to 12). Core learning area standard for this curriculum especially for science is the learners demonstrate understanding of basic science concepts and application of science-inquiry skills, they exhibit scientific and values to solve problems critically, innovate beneficial products, protect the environment and conserve resources, enhance the integrity and wellness of people, make informed decisions, and engage in discussions of relevant issues that involve science, technology, and environment. K-12 is divided into 3, they are Grade 1-2, Grade 3-10, and Grade 11-12.
 

Academic Support System

In TAU-Laboratory school, they go to great lengths to make sure that each student has every opportunity to succeed. Teacher and homeroom teacher will help students who are experiencing academic difficulty. If teachers find out that students’ score decrease, they will help students by giving a consultation. Teachers also meet with students’ parents so that they can relay all the information that they have observe from the students.

 

Teaching System

The teaching system in TAU-Laboratory School is focused on students’ ability. The classes are divided into 3 classes for Junior High School and 4 classes for Senior High School. Junior High School has 3 classes, they are Science A, Science B, and Agriculture-Homemaking while in Senior High School has 4 classes, they are STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), ABM (Accountancy, Business, and Management), HS (Humanities and Social sciences), and Agri-Home Economics.

Every teacher handles one subject to teach, teaching-learning time for each subject is 1 hour/meeting. The school started at 7.30 am until 5 pm. Teachers usually do a review the topic that students already learned on last meeting when start teaching on new topic.

 

 

Materials and Learning Sources

The main learning sources in TAU-Laboratory school are books that provided by school. The school often makes students to use Internet as other learning sources, the school also provides students a TV for showing the presentation or video.
